Another silly stocking Q.

Ok I always hate seeing these threads but even after reading and researching we all want some opinions.

I am running a 37gl (basically a 20L but twice as high) reef with a 29gl sump/refugium. Softy, LPS tank.

Heres what I have.
1. Red scooter dragonette
1. Royal gramma
1. Yellow tail damsel
and, cleanup crew


Heres what I want.
1. Red scooter dragonet
1. Royal gramma
2. True or false percs (Im partial to either)
1. Flameback angel


Im not sure if my "want" list is pushing it. I know people say the angel needs more space but I see them and even Flame angels in smaller tanks all the time and seem to be fat and happy.

Water quality wont be an issue (constant zeroes or unreadable across the board) nor will the production of pods (Ive got tons and scooter eats prepared as well as live). So what Im wondering is: does this sound like a good stocking list or could it be cramped? Other fish I wouldnt mind subbing are a midas blennie, and possibly a potters or flame angel. Should I keep the damsel (for color if nothing else)?

Ive got my heart set on an angel but I also want it to be a happy angel. Let me know what you all think.

Want to make sure I read your post right... You want to add another dragonet and another royal gramma to your tank? If that is correct then that is a bad idea, IMO. The grammas will most likely fight. As for adding another dragonet, there won't be enough pods for two, and don't count on the new one eating prepared foods.

I would suggest the 2 clowns, 1 royal gramma, and MAYBE the flameback. Wouldn't suggest a Potters, harder then most dwarfs to keep, and do better in larger tanks with lots of live rock to graze on.

Your rite I may not have made my original post clear. The "what I want list" is actually what I want the final outcome to be. Thats including what Ive got. So I want "in the end"

I dont want to add this list to what Ive already got.

OK, just got a killer "out of hobbie sale" deal on a flameback angel. As you can see I already have the scooter drag and Royal gramma. I was planning on introducing the clowns before the angel for obvious reasons but in this good turn of events ill be getting the flameback sooner then expected.

How do you guys think I should intro the clowns when I get them?

First get rid of the damsel, then add the clowns, try to do this quickly so the angel doesn't become to territorial.I know, the usual is to ad fish slowly but Hopefully your system can take it

Yeah I deff wanna get rid of the damsel. But I might keep him for the variety, dunno yet. He would be the least of my worries as the Gramma bosses him around.

I am worried about the system being able to take the load that quickly. I dont want a huge Amonia spike. my original plan was to take the damsel out the same time I added the clowns so the system only felt 1 fish addition. But the clowns will have to wait since I cant find any acceptable candidates rite now and Im picking up the angel tomorrow.

I said to get rid of the damsel and add the clowns now so the angel doesn't take over the tank before the clowns make it in.
