Hello fellow reefers!

At it again. Can't get the hands out of the tank! One of the big reasons why tank is On The Fritz!

Question I want to pose out there is, if you think you have an efficiently aquascaped and lit tank please share your thoughts.

Big challenge I have right now on a small 90 gal is how can I spread out the rocks and have it lit properly so that i can maximize real estate.

Please post pics if you can.
Thanks in advance.

I am replacing my LED with an Infiniti. Is this enough for a 30 X 30 ??

When setting up my own tanks I try to keep in mind that what is an aqua-scape/rock-scape in the early stages will later turn into a "coral-scape" so I try to keep my goal for what I want the look in the long term to be and strive towards that end. I'm sure you'll get the look you are wanting.

The spread of the new light is great. Covers the entire footprint of the tank and is extremely bright. The scape will definitely be a work in progress.

Hey Greg, The Giesemann Megachrome bulb is too white. Colour is a little washed out. I need to add more blue. Should I go actinic or a blue bulb like ATI blue plus? Thanks

My vote would be blue plus. The metal halide will drown out the actinic. What about changing bulbs in the future?

Nice!...... That's what I was planning to do until I got the LEDs dialed in.
That's a nice size cube and I hope to get one someday.
I love that elegance coral ! For the longest time they were almost impossible to keep. ( well I never were able to)

hey mike, how are you liking the overall light spread of the halide t5 combo? I was opting for an all led build, however light spread was my main concern and the price that comes with lighting the whole tank with led. I see most led fixtures do not light the entire tank from edge to edge and they tend to shadow.

Thanks! Not sure what's going on with Elegance these days. But the ones coming in lately have been in good shape. And they don't have to come from OZ.

It's a great set up. Light spread is huge. I can upgrade to a 36 X 36 and Im sure this will cover no problem.
My Reefbreeders was starting to grow corals and colour them as well. But the spread was limited.

If what you're after is growing SPS it's hard to make a mistake on halides.

nice, yea I might have to take the plunge and just man up the costs of electricity and heat. my lfs ran strictly halides. the owner retired, but I miss that halide look on the colored sticks. I'm running led on another tank and I'm not completely satisfied. trying to work around it with added light strips and such. Thanks for your response.
