Another wavebox on a 90g question

Finally saw a video of the wavebox on large SPS/clam tank; dimensions 5'x3'18" if I remember correctly.

The flow was absolutely stunning, the wave action was creating about a 1/2"-3/4" rise.

What I did not like was I felt its frequency was too short and quick. The corals appeared to be jerking left to right as opposed to swaying. I want to say the cycle was about 2 seconds each direction so 4 seconds total.

On my tanks deminisions, 90g at 48"l x 18"w x 24" d, you figured a 3/4" rise in water and noted it was adjustable. How long will the cycles be in duration? I am looking for strong current but longer cycle times, like 10-15 seconds.

Any ideas, comments, should I change my mind and take it as you dish it :).

At the moment, the tank will be mostly stocked with Western Atlantic gorgonians, cup corals, porites and polyps.

The cycle time is unchangeable, each tank has its own cycle time based on the resonance frquency of the aquarium. With the controller you have to set the timing to match the resonance frequency and only then will a wave occur. In my opinion it may not be perfect but it is as real as it gets.

That is all good and well. I guess I am looking for is in your judgement, will my tank have a longer or shorter cycle. How dependent is the resonance on live rock quantity/placement. Would a large mound or live rock in the middle of the tank increase or decrease cycle time. Or in the end are they all about the same?

The device is very nice and costs a lot money. I don't mind spending the money if it will do what I want, I want to minimize the possibility of spending the money and not creating the effect I want and having to spend more money on another option.

I appreciate the time you are giving me in answering my questions :)

It will be a fraction of a second shorter cycle than in the video and any deviation due to rock etc will be a tenth of a second at most. I can only say, I am very pleased with mine.
