Anthias and lack of food?

I'm currently fighting dinoflagellates and would like to turn off the lights for 72 hours. Anyone have any experience with not feeding Lyretails for this long? I have 7 in my tank and feed them 3 to 4 times a day. I'm a little worried about starving them for 3 days.

sanchoy - thanks for your reply. :)

Anyone have an opinion or experience with the 72 hour no feeding thing? That's what's worrying me.

Haven't gone that long personally.

My lyretail anthias get fed 3 times over a 4 hour period every other day during the week.

Weekends I feed the same amount as weekdays, but spread it out over longer periods since I am usually home all day.

Not sure how they would fair with 3 days without food.

You can feed them with just the ambient room lighting. I feed my fish every morning before the lights come on and the light coming in from the windows and from other rooms is enough to eat by.

I have left for 3 days without feeding and everyone was fine. ( 5 lyretails 1 bartlett) All fish must be fat though. They do feed without the lights on as lobster just said

3 days is nothing without food, IMO. As long as the fish are fat and healthy before the fasting period they will get through it easily. I had a lyretail anthias go without food for almost 2 weeks before he started eating and he was still healthy after.

When I had my Lyretail in QT she didn't eat for almost three weeks. Thought she was a goner but has been eating like a pig ever since.
