Anthias and reef lighting

I read somewhere (MD website) that Lyrtails are a lower light fish and Disbars are a higher light fish and truth to this in a reef setup with MH lighting.

I have both and find just the opposite..my lyretails are out more...as soon as there is any light in the tank they are out. The dispars tend to hide alittle more.... also the females tend to stay together while the males are loners...

Considering both are found in as little as 2' of water... something tells me that source needs a factcheck :) both are fine under as much light as you can throw at them.

I thought I already answered this in another thread.

If snorvich already answered the question, that covers it. MD hasn't sold fish in years, check LA. Both are fine in reefs. (In some areas, they both are caught wading castnetters and used as bait.)

Just to add...

my lyretail seems to love the light. He's out swimming in it all the time.

I have a resplendant that has lost all his colors as a male. He, now a she, mainly hides.

I have a female ignitus that doesn't hide, but stays in the upper corners of the tank. Still with beautiful colors.
