I am getting 5 Lyretail Anthias is it best to get one male or get just the 5 females and let one change

Go with 5 females.
If you are buying from a LFS make sure to keep an eye out for the spike at the front of the dorsal fin.
When I bought my first couple lyretails I didn't pay close enough attention and ended up getting 3 females (but 2 had JUST started transitioning to male). Had I paid closer attention I would have noticed the slight spike in the dorsal fin at the store.
