Hello All,

I am looking to add a small school of anthias to my 220 tank. I have never kept anthias before so Im looking for some suggestions on type. Any experience or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Lyretails would be my first choice in that mix. Maybe ignitus or carberryi if you put a little more work into them.

Yes, more work getting them to eat larger foods, less frequently. More work getting them to eat dry foods, if at all. Bit more sensitive to shipping...

I've really come to like dispar anthias. They're peaceful and school fairly well. The trick is getting specimens that have been properly collected and handled during the chain of custody. IME most fish, including tangs, ignore them so they can handle a more active tank. The males are stunning when they display.

I was leaning towards dispars after talking to a few of the loal suppliers. They seem to be available fairly often and in good condition. Now I just have to wait for some healthy ones to come in.

Good idea... these are commonly available, so don't jump on them unless they are prefect (nice full bellies, swimming around the tank, no sunken in foreheads).
