What happens if I keep 1 male squareback and say 4 female lyretails?

Is there a chance the male squareback revert to female?

or the male squareback remain male and one of the 4 lyretails will transform to a male ?

I had a male squarespot, male lyretail, and 3-6 female lyretails, everyone got along fine and stayed what they were. As far as I know male anthias do not revert back to female, although they might lose some coloration. One of the female lyretails might turn male, but it shouldnt be a problem.

are they active swimmers? i dont want fish that hides all the time...

Yes they are and will be out and about all the time. They do need multiple feedings a day as their metabolism are fast. If you keep a group of Lyretails I would think one would eventually turn into a male unless the squareback keeps them in check. Squareback should stay male.
