Anthias question

Thinking of adding some anthias to my tank, 90 gallon. I was considering some chromis, but I've read many stories of them picking each other off.

From what I've researched, Anthias, while more expensive, seem to get along a little better.

Any tips on which to get? I know you have to feed frequently (most say twice a day). I'm a newbie, so I'd be interested in some that are hardy and easy to keep. The Bartlett's seem cool. Also, I was thinking of getting just two, as opposed to a larger group.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks!

Bartletts or lyretails are your best bet as they are easiest to keep IMO. I have had both in diff tanks but i feed once a day and they do fine. A lot of people feed them multiple times a day but i only did that in qt. After the first 2 weeks in qt i felt they were comfortable enough to cut back to my DT practice to once a day.

I had bartletts and lyre tails. Personally bartletts I feel as being more hardy. But with that being said. My bartletts started getting aggressive and started picking each other off. Lyretails were less active in my tank too. Just personal opinion based off my experience.

So do you now have just one Bartletts? I was thinking of just getting one of this fish if they do alright as singles. Will one stay out in the open? I have mostly peaceful fish.

I just went to my LFS today and the owner (35+ years in the business) said that a single male anthias would do better than a single female. I'm thinking I'll try a male lyretail and see how it goes. My tank is getting a little crowded for 3-5.

The male lyretail looks beautiful, at least in the picture on LiveAquaria. I might try one myself.

By the way, I have a single chromis who has done just fine by himself for over 3 years. Simple looking fish but adds a nice splash of blue and cruises around all day long (doesn't hide) and mostly gets along with everyone.
