Anthias, too much flow?

I have had my (3) dispar anthias for almost 3 weeks. They seem to be hiding alot, but they sure do come out during feeding time, which is a good sign. Other than that, they will hide during most of the hours.

The reason for this post is, when the anthias are out and about, it looks like they are being thrown around by my water flow. I am not sure if this is the reason why they are hiding, as in my 55 gallon I only have a Koralia 3, and a Maxi-Jet 1200.

What are your guys' opinions.

I don't think they are shy to current. They may be hiding from each other until they get a good pecking order and territory worked out.

Anthias normally dwell in high current area of reefs. They are accustomed to being thrown around by massive surges and changing currents. The random flow in your tank is no big deal to them, and I'm sure they appreciate it. : )

As humans we fatigue easily, and I think this is why we get worried when we see our fish fighting current in our tank. The few times I've been to natural reefs though, it amazed me how hard all the fish had to fight just to stay put. They are built for this.

no way. they love flow, and, no offense, you dont have that much. What other fish do you have? they may be intimidated.
