Anthias with fluke?

Is this any sign of fluke? He is in QT and no treatments have been done the past week.

This is his coloration at around 2 am when he's sleeping wih lights off..

it changes after the lights are on around 11am though so j think its normal? I remember seeing this often with other fish too.

And he usually hangs all over the tank at this depth..

So I did a 70% WC yesterday and he is doing much better with a regular eating (mysis) routine for a couple days now and being accustomed to a giant human I think. Swimming around a lot today compared to earlier and not afraid of me anymore.

Here is a pic of the fins being weird that might be fluke related?

Is it me or is his orange just dull? With a flashlight it looks grey

as you can see especially on the one to its left, our right" it looks like its rotten away or decayed away towards the tips.

I wouldn't be too worried about coloration changes. Anthias are really shy fish and it can take a long time for them to get used to a captive environment. Is the fish making any of the normal fluke related behavioral movements? If he's in a QT, you should treat with prazipro as the part of any good QT protocol. That should take care of any flukes or internal worms.

The only fluke movement I know of is apparently a head jerk but its tough to know what That would look like since they do sometimes make moves as all fish do that look weird

I wouldn't worry about color changes. That anthias (a lyretail, I believe?) appears to be transitioning from female to male, so the color will change from yellow/orange to red (either bright red or purplish red depending on where it was collected). As for flukes, I have always heard and experienced anthias to be prone to them. As mentioned above, several treatments of praziquantel (PraziPro) should be used on anthias in quarantine. I put every fish I get through 2-3 rounds of PraziPro so that I never have to worry about whether or not it has flukes.

Damn I was hoping it would be a female because I love the orange yellow color if I add another anthias that was female that might be transitioning to male as well would she complete transition or it would stop the transition since another male exists? Also I guess I'll add some prazipro today any tips on how exactly to go about this so I don't stress it out more than the treatment might?

I went ahead and added my true perc in the QT as well to treat both at once. I added the prazipro and hopefuly things go well. They aren't active at all, resting most of the time, probably due to the medication right?

I noticed the anthias pooping, it was black but it seems to have a white "dead particle" looking thing around the poop on some parts. the poop is black but the poop seems to have like dead skin on it or somethign that is white.

Here's a picture of its fin in the morning, that whit part toward the bak is where it looks as if its peeling off or decayed but it is gone now as is my clowns. Maybe it was fluke hanging on it?

One symptom is it looks like the fish is coughing and has heavy breathing. They'll also flash sometimes to try to shake the fluke loose.

does any one have a picture of a fluke on a fish at the gill area? I think I just lost one I was not able to get a good picture. I did see some small white flat thing on the gill and botj gills were very red on both sides. Hope this adds to this post

i still have no idea waht a fluke looks like. when you do google search its like microscopic pics of it which is useless for me.

So today Is day 3 of the treatment and the fish aren't eating today and the water is a bit cloudy looking.

They were eating like mad yesterday though.

Is this normal ?

I just did a 80% WC because the fish weren't eating at all or moving for almost 40 hours now. They are swimming all over and happy now and wondering if I should do a 2nd treatment of fluke or not.

I have no idea what fluke looks like to be honest so not sure what to look for.

I was scared the stress woudl cause ich so I did the WC and wondering what my next step should be.

I got them to eat LIKE MADDDDDD just now after the WC so that helped and my clown now is pooping dark, not white stringy poop anymor ! So I guess this problem is solved.

I do still see taht weird stuff on my anthias fins, the boarder of the fins seem as if they are shedding or something. Is this normal

I dont think taht stuff on the fins is ich or fluke because wouldn't the fish have died by now? Usulaly ich and fluke I read kill in a week the latest.

I am scared if it is safe to add to teh DT or not someone help please.

I started my 2nd treatment after I fed them well and saw some dark poopbut someone did poop out a dark but whitish poop, i htink the anthias did this as its been consistent with them.
