anthias with severly nipped fins

Kigs

In Memoriam
I have an anthias that has a severely nipped pectrol fin (left side.) The culprit was a starry blenny which became overly aggressive towards only the anthias. Since then, he has been removed.

The anthias, even during the times with the blenny in the tank, used to be active whenever there was food in the water. Ever since the day I took it out, it became very sluggish and it refuses to eat.

Now it simply sits inside a pvc pipe or just sits on the bottom of the tank. Last night, it was out for few minutes swimming around...but today, no eating and no movement from the bottom of the tank.

The breaths are very steady and he does move from time to time. I've been treating the tank with melafix for the last two days and also did a 20% water change. Any recommendations on what I could do to improve his status?

Nipped fins are pretty common and often cure themselves .. melafix should help.

You might try some live brine shrimp ... almost every fish will readily accept live brine.

Good luck
