Anthias

I am hoping to get a trio of Sunburst Anthias this weekend. My question is for those of yall that have kept the Sunburst or other Anthias what are you feeding them? I have heard they can be hard to get to start feeding when you first get them. They are going in my QT tank so I can make sure they are healthy and find a food that they will take regularly. I have a number of frozen foods including PE Mysis and Rods Food on hand.
Thanks.

Yea, I've never had a problem getting them to eat either.
The problem is that you have to feed them many times a day.
At least initially.

Thanks for the replys yall. I have read that you need to feed them 3-5 times a day and that is one reason why I am putting them in the QT is to make sure that I get them eating and fat before going in the main tank.

IMO regular feedings are not as important as with other types of anthias. Sunbursts don't hang in high flow areas or dart around anywhere near as much as other types. Two feedings a day is sufficient.

Mine initially just did any frozen meat cube. My pygmy angel started showing signs of poor nutrition so I started feeding more flakes. My Sunburst now also do flake food.

It took my anthias a week before they would eat anything. Just keep offering them stuff and hope for the best. I wouldn't worry too much if they don't eat in their first week. I feed mine frozon mysis and brine shrimp

Thanks yall for all the information. I have some of all the different foods in the freezer and now I just have to wait until Saturday to go pick them up. I am going to house them for a while in my 20g long QT tank to let them get fat and make sure they are healthy before they go into the display tank. Thanks again.

I have a squareback anthias that eats everything I put in there. It has since the day i got it. now, my Dispar, on the other hand, I have yet to see eat more than one bite. It is not visibly skinny so I know it's eating something after a month of having it. I feed that tank a lot and often.
