After an initiation from LVRS members, Todd @ SF has generously made arrangements for ANTHONY CAFLO, to come to Something Fishy for another talk on November 17th. Details will follow at the Lehigh Valley Reef Society forum at toofishy.com. If you missed the last event, it was amazing. He did a very interactive fragging session using a bta.

If you are not aware, Anthony Caflo is the author of many popular reef books. He is considered among many as the "guru" of coral propagation. Many of us frag our corals to help offset the cost of the hobby, often with varying levels of success. Anthony will talk about novel methods of propagation as well as the best ways to safely ship livestock. etc. He is humble and very approachable when it comes to answering questions. This is a great oppurtunity to spend some time with a person at the top of our hobby.

sorry for mistake, its Anthony Calfo.

spracklcat,. your just jealous of his "funky" shirts :) i wonder where he gets them.

"Funky" as in the print... or the smell?

If the latter... I'm blaming it on the coral and anemone juice that sprays up from the wet saw after I push them face-first through it :D

i just recently used a diamond drill bit to frag for the first time and you are right. the spray is nasty. For your event, ill ask Todd to get you a Splash Guard headset and apron lol :)

your funky shirts of course :) i notice anything different. its consistent with your carefree personality :) you should auction a signed shirt at your talks lol

when you do 2 hr frag sessions, its hard not to notice every tiny detail, including your shirt :)

thank you for coming to SF again.! many reefers in the area are looking forward to it, esp considering the success of the last one.

Anthony Calfo will be visiting Something Fishy on Friday, November 17th!

Anthony, the author of Reef Invertebrates and Book of Coral Propagation, will be in town to promote his new magazine, C... the Journal of Aquatic Science, Travel and Adventure. The Journal, a quarterly publication, provides a uniquely educational and entertaining blend of information on aquatic and reef-oriented topics.

Anthony will be giving a 15-20 minute in-store lecture/workshop followed by a Q&A session. The workshop will start at 5pm and will be repeated again at 6pm & 7pm.

The store will be open 5pm-9pm for this special event. There are no tickets or reservation required to attend this free event.

What is the address of this shop? I am staying in Queens in the Richmond Hill area and don't know the area at all, but would like to attend Anthony's presentation.
Any help is appreciated!
Has anyone ever told you folks that this place is HUGE!!!
Bill

its called Something Fishy at toofishy.com

Something Fishy

The focus will be to show reefers how to take pics. Anthony is about as good as it gets when it comes to taking aquarium pics. Just look at his books for proof.

but i have to be honest, now that hes coming to Atlantis Aquarium on the 18th, i would prob go there instead since you have the aquarium to look at also. :) esp for those nearby. Anthony at Something Fishy is good if you want to buy what you take pics of. :)

either way, i would atleast attend one of his events.

very often our hobby is all about the pic :) and now we have an expert to help us avoid the blurry/black image we all dispise.
