Depends on the amount of antibiotics, the amount of total water in the tank, the flow of water, ie gph over the carbon, type of carbon, how much carbon are you using, ect...
Also, are you wet skiming?
80% is a lot in one change. This will effect the cycle of the tank.
If you bother to change 80% of the water to remove a drug, why not change 99-100%?
BTW, I have a diatom filter. When a coat of powered act carbon is used on top of diatom earth with a diatom filter, it is very effective in picking up many drugs.
The diatom filter has this adjunct use, in addition to controlling the spread of ich. Not that you should buy a new diatom filter for this purpose. A used one cheap may be.
