We have 35-36 AI Sols in the field, and I have replaced at least a dozen power supplies, and have 3-4 units with burnt out LEDs. At first AI responded pretty quickly, shipping out new power supplies without question. Over the past year if we put a request via email, or the help desk the response is not what is expected. Most of the units are installed 12-18" over the tanks, most with canopy tops and adequate airflow. A few resellers/distributors I know have made comments about having issues as well. Don't get me wrong, I like the lights, and the price point is great. A few years ago the marketing approach was minimal heat production, 50,000 hour lifespan, upgrade ability, and lighting control...but when a client calls complaining about "the left lights are out again" or "we are having another TV shoot next week, and they want the aquarium lighting to work"... We need reliability. I had a similar issue with Radions early on with the first gen...but they jumped right on it. For some reason this has not been the case recently with AI. In fact, the last response I received offered a "discount" to purchase power supply replacements... We have sourced a better power supply alternative at a significant cost savings, but the problem remains if we sell a unit to a client it needs to run without the same issues over and over again. We lose revenue for service calls regarding failures like this (hard to bill a client for repairs to lights that are 1-2 yrs old). Which makes me wonder if the Vega and Hydra were meant to eliminate the issues with the Sols
