I'm trying to set my Aquacontroller up with my computer but every time I try to pick the COM port in the tank database section i get an error box and aqua notes closes.
I'm using Aqua Notes Lite, and my computer doesn't have the serial port so I'm using an adaptor to USB. can any one help.

Those USB adapters are tricky sometimes. Did the adapter come with any software? Or do you have the make and model of the adapter?

didnt' really come with any thign it's just a small plastic thing with a 9 pin trapazoid shaped plug on one side and the female device side usb plug on the other. I just tried it on my tuning laptop wich has the serial port and it worked fine so it has to be this terd adaptor. Unless it's a GM PCM i'm computer retarded.

Aquanotes isn't the most sophisticated program in the world. There have been threads about using USB adaptors and it always breaks down into changing interrupt settings in Windows and some other pretty in depth stuff.

I'm running a usb adapter on mine and it works fine. I can't remember what I did but Ken over in the Neptune forum should be able to help you.
