Any down side to adding copepods?

I'm a new first time mandrin owner and wonder if anyone has had a bad experience with adding copepods?

not at all, it is actually a plus, it will feed the coral adn fish in the tank, you should've cultivated pods in your tank before getting a madarin as they really need alot of pods to feed on.

Julio you're right about the pods but I've ordered some online and they should be here tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

make sure you feed phyto to your tank to get them to reproduce faster, with a large ammount of food.

Not to hyjack the thread but any ideas how much cyclopese and how often, to feed a 75G tank w/100 lbs lr, 1 fish and 25 snails to encourage pod growth?

The problem with cultivating pods with Cyclops is that it ads a lot more nutrients to the tank than Phyto would.

I had no problems adding pods to my tank. I added 2 bottles. Just dumped them in about 4 mos ago water and all. I'm prepping for a future mandarin:D

I also feed cyclopeeze every other day but not a lot. If I were to guess it would probably be about 1/16th teaspoon-frozen bar. My corals go bananas when I add it. Not sure about the pods, but they probably like it too. I leave the pumps/skimmer on. I know I waste some that way but I'm really not concerned about it. This is what my sun coral looks like when I add it. Tank seems happy too.:D
