Im getting some wild caught shrimps at throw away price, do they breed in captivity? Also is there any sw shrimp that would breed easily like freshwater red cherry shrimps?

Without knowing what species you have theres no way to give any sort of answer in terms of how they breed. But overall there is no species of marine shrimp that trees similarly to freshwater cherry shrimp. Marine shrimp have larval stages that last from 20 to 120 days and during that time they can only be kept in specialized kreisel tanks with circular flow to simulate the open ocean environment. It is definitely possible to breed several species but not in the way that freshwater species breed. They require very specialized foods and tanks to pull it off.

Thanks, i guess i wont breed. Jus wanted some in the fuge.. i wonder how snails and tiny brittle stars breed in tank sometimes...

Easier if they don't have a planktonic larval stage . . .

Your shrimp will still produce eggs and larvae - and your corals and fish will be well pleased!
