So far I have replace the Rio pump with a MJ1200. With the MJ1200 I'm get better foam (not much), but I'm also getting alot of micro bubbles in the tank. I was wonder if there are any type of mod for this skimmer to improve its performance, and to eliminate the micro bubbles from entering the tank.
Any Excalibur HOT skimmer mod?

I had it for about 15 minutes. then discarded it for a bigger better skimmer.
One of the things I did to it was drilled a bunch of holes in the impeler blades and threaded fishing line through it a bunch of times. In effect making a "threadwheel"
as far as bubbles in the tank, I had mine in a sump so you are on your own there.

put a small needlewheel pump on it like sedra 3500 or small Gen-X

do a bioball mod on it
i did and works really good
just cut a big bioball in half
cut out the center
then trim the pins to a desired height
put the impeller in the center
cut a few small holes in the bottom of the impeller chamber for more water flow
put on the turbo venturi attachment and air line
and connect
