I'm tired of paying for anemones at the lfs that keep dieing, 5 anemones from the same shop and they have all died for little to no reason. My tank is kept up greatly my water stays pristine. Its got to just be the lfs. They always have atleast one dieing anemone in their system. I always get the healthy ones but w/ no prevail. I think they have something in their system infecting them. So... does any one in around or coming to mobile have an extra nem to sell or trade for coral? I need something quick i got 2 mean gold stp. maroons that will kill my coral if they decide to host it. thanx, pm me

B&B. Every anemone i bout from the center set of tanks has died of infection, and they always seem to have atleast one that is dieing in their tanks. Any way i'm looking for any host anemones, any one have any clones or anything like that for sell?

go to progresive marine they are close to mobile lumber....but as for this post check on the florida panhandle reefkeepers ...its just a few down from this ...mainly people from p.cola to destin or so

I have 4 long tentacle anemones in my tank. They just keep splitting! I would be glad to get rid of a couple, but I don't know how I would remove em from the rock. Plus you live a pretty good ways away from me.

I second Progressive Marine...right behind Lowes at Tillman's Corner.

guys yall are great, i ended up picking up amonster lta, he's like 10-12 inches round when opend and stands like 8 inches high. I figured a bigger one would be hardier, plus i was told to get a bigger one because my maroons would stress small ones.

But i'm good now. thanx though

What type of anenomes are you ahving trouble with? Each species has different needs. Some can be quite specific.

I'm having troubles with lta's for no apparent reason, bubble tips because of power heads, the only thing i have successfully kept was a green carpet, but i had to get rid of him due to size, those things are just big gill nets in a 29g tank.
But yes the lta is the mystery in my tanks. Honestly any advice would be great on them given i'll probably just keep a carpet once i upgrade.

Hmmm, that's kinda odd. LTA's always seemed to be easier to keep then BTA's, since they don't need as much light.
Did you feed it regularly? Maybe your water is too clean, and they don't get enough nutrients... or, they were doomed from the start with a disease that hadn't surfaced until the stress from moving triggered it? Who knows really...
Good luck tho =/

B&B doesn't take very good care of their tanks from what I've seen. I did however buy an lta 2 weeks ago and he is doing fine.. they JUST got the shipment in. I went back a week later, and the ones left were looking pitiful. I don't know if it's their light, feeding or water... but i think mine is doing well only because it had been in their tanks a few hours.
