I am setting up a 24 galoon acrylic tank for my mantis, i will be adding a little sand, some LR and maybe a couple pieces of PVC.
I am wondering about keepiong any fish in there. I was planning on keeping a couple damsels in there because if they get eaten i dont really care, but could i keep anything else in there? clowns or anything?

thanks for the advice

I keep VERY succesully a 4 inch allardi clown with my 5-6 inch peacock in my 26 BF ( I have also kept a couple damsels as well for lengthy amount of time, they died, but Not because the Mantis killed them)

There is no aggression, and I am not worried about it at all. They have been together for 9 months with no incidents, and they seem to be pals, with the clown helping attack any feeder crayfish... But I am about to get a large bubble tip anemone for him. My mantis wont even eat the snails in the tank, she will grab them and toss them out of her burrow if they come wandering in! Very funny to watch...

BTW, I added a couple damsels first to see if they would be dinner, after watching the damsel sit with the peacock and swim right by her face countless times, I then felt it would be just fine to add a clown, so I got the nicest, largest and most "aggressive" species I could find locally, this guy had lived in the LFS's display tank for almost two years, will eat anything and is very healthy
