Looks like a worm or fluke attached to the side of the fish. Really worried now about my other fish in the QT. it's my fault I should have been more Leary of a fish from petco. She was just finally starting to eat and come out more yesterday too. Woke up thismorning and she was dead.

I can't tell much from the pic. The "worm or fluke attached to the side of the fish" could be an anchor worm I suppose. Royal Grammas are also very susceptible to Ich.

Well I'm thinking I'm going to start the QT in copper sulfate tonight. That would kill flukes and worms as well as ich correct

Copper will kill some flukes/worms. But Prazi-Pro does a better job with both internal & external worms , very safe med too and used my most folks I know in the QT. If using copper, be sure to have a copper test kit that is compatible with the brand of copper you're using. Increase copper dosage much more slowly than the instructions read.

FWIW: I sure don't recommend Petco fish; but fish can, and do, occasionally die from any source. I have seen Petco fish enough times to make me avoid them at all costs. Even if its just a tiny way of discouraging them from marketing live creatures this way.

Had Kim put her in a ziploc with freshwater in it thismorning. There's some white specs floating in there but there isn't a lot of them at all. i took the rock that was in there out. I would not want to put that rock back in the DT correct?

You never want to put anything from a QT into your DT. Except for the fish when the time is right. But even any equipment - sterilize it first.

I wouldn't freak too much over this Royal Gramma dying, but I do think it would be a good idea to at least treat the QT with Prazipro.

Getting some tomorrow.
