Any ideas about this one?

I discovered a mantis in my tank last week and I've been setting my good ol water bottle trap when I notice him hunting. At least that's what I think he's doing. Most of the day he's in his burrows in my largest piece of LR.
I just can't seem to catch him...he goes up to the mouth of the trap and will investigate, but he just won't go in! He's very reclusive, although I think he might be getting used to me peering in at him. I do want to get rid of him, I've already asked a LFS to take him off my hands when I trap him. He's really going after my crabs. He's killed an emerald, severely wounded another (one pincher is gone and the other has a big dent in it) and today he was trying to get another. Of course, he's already killed 3 hermits, that I know of.
I don't blame the mantis, I just want him out...I'm fond of my emerald crabs :)
Hopefully, I'll have some luck catching him but if anyone has any advice I'll appreciate it. Here are a couple of pics. It's hard to get good ones b/c he's so reclusive. I'm thinking he's Gonodactylus chiragra.

cover the bottle so it's dark...and use his favorite meal...a nice snail or hermit crab inside...put a little sand or gravel on the way into the bottle...or a small piece or rock...it's the slippery texture of the bottle that's putting him off...it doesn't feel right...good luck with the catching...
