I have been trying to find a happy place for this in my tank... anyone have any ideas as to what it is, and where in my tank it might be happy, right now it is about halfway down in my tank and seems to be ok. I just cant tell if it wants more or less light.

I know ID's are tough so a guess works for me.

WHat color is it?

I've got a piece thats like a teal green/blue color that has almost exactly the same morphology. Really nice. Dont know what it is though

it is pale with yellowish tips.... that is what I am currently wondering is where in my tank to put it for color.

got one just like it, not sure on the name either.. and it drives me nuts.. it colours up amazing then starts to die.

A speciosa.. me thinks.. you got yourself a very nice piece. They tend to stay that tan color, however, they grow in wonderful paterns. med light, strong gentle flow! Keep up the good work, that polyp extension is somthing else!

that looks like the color scheme it is getting... just the tips are coloring.... but the polyps are different....

yeah grand.... on atlantis's sight they say it tolerates low light... now the questing is to them what qualifies low light !

20 K radiums.. or low in a T5 tank is my guess

I agree I really like the structure of the coral and it is very happy, I just guess I think there is more potential in it.... trying to see where others might be keeping theirs... so I dont have to go through the entire trial by error thing.

I have a couple small colonies under T5's on the bottom of the tank. Atlantis is correct regarding the low light. They are starting to show purple hues and green on the encrused part of the coral. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

see now those green tips remind me of A. chesterfieldensis.. and under 10K XM's that might just be enough red light to fade out the green glow that the chester has.. Hmm
