I got a beautiful blue throat trigger last week and since I got him I cannot seem to get him to eat. He finally got over being shy and swims around the tank all day but I have tried to feed just about everything I think...
Nori soaked in garlic
Mysis soaked in garlic and selcon
Krill soaked in garlic and selcon
Brine shrimp
whole raw shrimp with and without shell
I just got some mussels and opened one up and he doesnt seem interested on the sandbed so I pulled the meat out and used some tongs to put it in his face (without scaring him).. I can touch his mouth with it but he just swims past like he doesnt care about it
I bought some seafood mix from HEB... shrimp, scallops, mussels, octopus, squid etc.. I tried all of it by putting it in his face, I can litterally put it in front of his face and touch his mouth and he doesnt want...
He is looking a little thinner and I dont want him to die

Have you tried live brine or live ghost shrimp? Most fish can't resist live brine even if they won't eat anything else.

good idea. I didnt even think about that.
I will have to see if I can find some around here when I get off of work

I thought about ghost shrimp but I thought I read that once they get taste for live shrimp thats what they want to eat. I have cleaner shrimp in there but he doesnt mind it because the shrimp was on his back and face the other day cleaning him off.. at this point I wouldnt mind if he ate the cleaner shrimp lol

do you add garlic to live brine shrimp water? I have never messed with live brine

buy yourself a dozen or two of guppies these fishes likes things moving and slowly drop some krill or frozen squid that is chopped up.

Great Sucess!
I went to my lfs yesterday and got some live brine and ghost shrimp. He tore the ghost shrimp up! Now I just hope he will start taking other foods so I dont have to keep buying ghost shrimp!

No, I didnt have time before I put them in.
I am asusming this means feeding the ghost shrimp some food before feeding him?
I bought 40 of them but I only put about 10 or so in there (some got away for nowhehe)
I have the rest in a breeder net in my sump to keep them alive. Should I give the shrimp some food? I was thinking I might throw a small silverside in there or some nori?
