Any Ideas on silencing a 2" overflow pipe?

I have two corner overflows on my 300 Gallon build. Each overflow box has one 2" and one 1 1/2" drain. The two 2" drains are the main drains, and the two 1 1/2" are emergency back-up drains.

I looked at the Maggie Mufflers, but the largest size they make is 1 1/2". I do not have enough room to do a durso style.

Any other products or suggestions?

Could you use a 2"-1.5" bushing just below the the water line so you could use the 1.5" Maggie Muffler?

Check out the herbie method, basically you put a ball valve on one of your drains and tune it so it matched the output of your return pump and create a full siphon, the other pipe will act as an emergency drain just like you already stated. I'm pretty sure you'd use the 1.5" pipes for your primary and the 2" for emergency.

Great idea, I put a ball valve on each of the two inch drains, so I can do this very easily. Is it difficult to get dialed in?

As for the 1 1/2 emergency drains, I ended up putting a T that went from 1 1/2" to a 2", so they are now connected into one pipe.

I use those too, they are great. They are still ball valves however. It might work for you so give it a shot. Ime, I've always had to use gates.

I also went with the stock man drain. I have two 1.5" drains for over 6 years and its been great. just need to clean it once a month to make sure nothing gets trap in it.

Glad to hear you like the stock man, that's may be the best solution for the size. My other option is to go with a reducer to 1 1/2" and go with the Maggie muffler. Or just try to create a full siphon by valving it down.
