Any LFS arund Bucktown?

Most of the stores in the city are way over priced. The only one that I think is good is Reef Dweller at 5858 N. Lincoln Ave. It's a ways from Bucktown, but Menard is a hobbiest and has a good selection of corals and prices. He specializes in SPS, but has other corals as well.

Ok went there and i must say nice place, but i dont like the location FAR! :) not that far but eh. Anyway, he specializes in SPS and while some of the stuff i saw there is awesome, its mostly beyond me. I have few SPS and many more LPS and zoas, but what i really need are FISH!

I think Menard (if he was the one working) thought i was an idiot...i went in there with a friend and trying to give him business, tried to buy test kits, etc there for my friend. He gave me an amused look and said he didnt have any. After seeing his place i understand. Surges in all his frag tanks, awesome! who would waste time on salifert kits?

Anyway i will be going there for coral, but where around the bucktown/lincoln park area can i go for fish??
thanks!!

Old Town, 1400 1500 N Wells (Wells/North)...expensive but they get some cool stuff. For supplies I order from Premium Aquatics or hit up petco. I also try to buy fish from fellow reefers when possible. I got my golden dwarf moray from old town for ~$150, which was a good deal...the guys there are knowledgeable and have advised me against buying a few things that I would have bought otherwise.

I agree... I just moved out to Chicago in April from Northern Cal, and have not really found anything in Chicago besides Reef Dweller and Old Town. Old Town is expensive.

Most of the good storees I've found all seem to be in the suburbs.

I have been to this store a few times and they are pretty reasonable for the city. Not a lot of corals, but a wall or so of fish. Seem healthy and a good variety. Pretty much only street parking.
