Any news on RCT opening back up?

I was wondering if Frank is planning on re-opening RCT? I was a customer and absolutely loved his captive bred Interruptus angels. Copps, are you out there?:)

:) I distinctly remember telling you a few years ago you'd regret getting rid of those interrupta you had... :)

I still speak to Frank regularly, and I'll be out in Hawaii again later this year... I cannot say when Frank will be back but I can say he will be back... ;)

I'm looking for one too! Any comments on the captive bred vs. wild ones? I want one around 3" or so....

Pretty much nothing, other than the fact that Frank's CB ones are adapted to captivity (adapting wild interrupta is not easy), and they EXIST! Like most subtropical fish, Centropyge interrupta are seasonal spawners... the juveniles are not always around, and settle out much deeper than the adults... there are at least dozens of adults collected for every small one caught... and so, with this fish being from Japan the few that trickle in go to Japanese hobbyists usually... I was in Japan last year and met one of the people that collect this species... he has a LIST of prepaid Japanese guys for these juveniles, so why should they risk sending them across the world?

Frank's were just about always sold small... around an inch give or take...

Absolutely correct...

AGHHH, now I don't know if I should wait for a capitve bred one, or pull the trigger on the first wild or captive one I can find!

My guys/girls...

Here is the wild male that fathered all of the captive raised interrupta, including Maximus' beautiful little girls...

And junior, one of the captive raised offspring... first as a female...

... and later in one of my displays as a male, showing why these are the most sexually dimorphic of all Centropyge... :)

copps, interesting to see the progression from female to male. are they like wrasses where you will need a male and female in order for the male to have great coloration like that?

To my knowledge..... interruptus are one the most "hermafroditic" (pretty sure thats not a word) angel out of all the species. T
