looking to buy small frag of someones montipora, preferably Orange Montipora capricornis, or Purple Montipora capricornis. Thanks in advance!

I dont think this one will be hard to find, I would be emmbarased if someone acctually made you pay them for it. good luck!!

yea, i'm hopping someone on these forums will see this and maybe have a broken piece that would be up for grabs, but we will see!

I have some fast-growing plating montipora that I can break a piece off of to give when I give you the chaeto (if you'd like).

I have small frags of orange Monti cap and Idaho Grape Monti cap which I would be willing to part with no charge. The pieces from which they came were given to me by a club member and so I'm continuing that.

I also have some other small frags I'd be willing to part with, such as Monti undata, green birdsnest, pink birdsnest, xenia and zoanthids. Some are free, some require a small donation to Kens Coral Corral, like $10-20. I'm not in it for money, just to rehome surplus and unintentionally fragged items.

That's be great Ken, I'm aiming to go to Santa Rosa on Friday afternoon, if there is someway we could get in contact, or if you are available Friday, let me know so we can set up a rondevu point.

I hear you're in SR on Friday. I suggest you make a 15 mile detour south to Petaluma and you can pick out some frags. I'm feeling generous at the moment. I think the wine I drank this evening helped with that. :)

What lighting do you have? I'm trying to gauge what might be appropriate.

I have 400 watts of pc... I've read that most of the montiporias will grow under them but that people advise against... What are your thoughts?..,

How tall is your tank?

Because I have thriving colonies of the frags I mentioned, I'd be willing to gamble a more light demanding frag or two on you. Offhand I'd say you won't experience optimal sps color, but you certainly have enough par for zoas and lps. Less light requiring sps may thrive. Stop by and I'll set you up.

my tank is 17 inches tall. 36 long, and twelve deep. its approximately 30 gallons, and i also have a ten gallon fuge with a deep sand bed and getting some chaeto to throw in there soon too. I would keep the montipoira about 2 inches from the top, and then its about 9 inches to the light from the surface of the water.

I'd bet the Monti caps will be ok. They may not end up as thick or bright, but they'll probably grow. Either way it will be a learning experience for both of us. Come on by. On the free list (should you be interested) are pulsing xenia, green birdsnest, orange and Idaho Grape monti cap and some zoanthids.

I've got a few zoanthids, but for sure I am interested in the orange and Idaho Grape monti cap's. where would be the best place to meet you in petaluma?
