Any one have any maxijets for sale

breutus

Don't ask me, I'm wrong.
Either modded or capable of being modded, Just looking for a cheaper price than the stores!

Hey breutus it took me 7 months after i bought my 125 to actually get water in it. Take your time and buy quality equipment, you will be glad that you did in the long run. As far as the maxi-jets for goodness buy new ones even if it takes you a week or two to save he money for them. Just remember it is cheaper to buy things once then to buy them at a great price and replace them 2 months later.

Well I thank everybody very much for their input, and i have found someone that is going to sell me at least one modded one.

Because, A; I really didn't want to have to mod it myself(I know it's supposed to be easy)
And B; I like to buy stuff not being used anymore. Why buy something new that someone has laying around that they don't need or don't use anymore. especially if it can still have a purpose.

The maxijets lose some of their initial power in the first 6-9 months of use. We replace ours about every 18-24 months. That's why I recommended getting new ones.

AMEN to that one salty, not to crack on anybody here but breutus your into high end audio and your buying used maxi-jets? They cost like $30.00

Well I had no idea that they started to simply degrade over time, I was always under the impression that they only quit working if a something failed as long as you kept them clean. Thats definitely good to know.

And bmrescort I don't take it as a crack at me at all, but I don't completely understand the comment Since I would take a a old tube amp over a solid state any day and would rather listen to a vinyl then a CD. But if you just mean because of the prices then thats a different story all together. I always worked at high end electronics stores(ultimate, music for pleasure) and got unbelievable discounts, and it is not something I go out and buy everyday, I have my system in place, and do not still regularly spend money on it. Which is a good thing considering I have two kids these days and it seems like I never have money since they were born LOL.

But over all that, I never said I wasn't CHEAP!!! :D

So thank you all for the advice I will probably buy the one that this person is willing to sell me. If it goes out or doesn't seem to be working correctly. Then I will have learned my lesson and I should have listened to you guys. And if it does work then, I will have gotten a PW for half the price and not had to do any work for it.

It's not that the used ones won't work. It's that they don't keep the same power to move water over time. They use cheap magnets and the magnets lose their magnetic force over time. So if you buy a used MJ 1200 for $10, but it's only providing the water movement of a MJ 400, is it worth the money you paid?

Okay, now I will drop it. ;)

LOL  I definitly see your point.
And this is the reason I post on RC I learned something new about PH's today, it's good to know that so many people care enough to make sure that other reefers are not just throwing away there money!

Ok so I won't knock you in the high end audio cause my Audio research amp and pre-amp are all tubes, :) and boy do they sound good. Running thru the mono-blocks with a Velodyne 700 watt sub woofer. My fish dance in the tank , lol. So I will have to let up on you a bit. By the way there was a guy selling a brand new in the box 1200 for $20.00.
My second little girl will be here in September and Kimi is 19 months old now, so I know how that is.
