Any one use battery backup systems?

Power went out in Windsor yesterday (not where i live) and was wondering if the power was out for say 6-10 hours, would anything happen.

I have a system, but it is manual. A spare car battery and a 400 watt coleman inverter. It is enough to run my main pump and skimmer
for quite a few hours. If it looks bad, I can always swap the battery from my truck and use the truck to charge the drained battery.
I also keep several batter powered airpumps around.

I'll have to get a couple of those battery powered air pumps
