any one use the sump for a time out for fish?

75 gallon reef tank

had a coral beauty in the tank.
last week I added a pair of banggai cardinals. Coral beauty is bulling them into a corner.

Any one put a fish in time out for a few days to let the new comers to get comfortable? I was thinking of using my sump.

thanks

Done it before. Jsut make sure the pumps have filter covers. Like the intake for your return and skimmer pump. Don't want your fish to get sucked in.

yes, i did with my bicolor angel. thing kept picking. Needless to say it didnt learn, had to give it back to the store...My fault for getting an angel i guess.

Yopu may just want to buy a "critter keeper" (little plastic cage of sort), and add her to that, within the display. That way, there is a visual connection still, but no aggression can be had.

My brother put his clown in the sump for a few days when it wouldnt leave his new sunburst anthias alone. When re-introduced everything was ok.

My sumps are 150 gallons each... but yes, I have used smaller sumps for time outs if I had the correct space. I wouldn't use it if you don't have the right space in there for a fish.
