Any plans to make a smaller stream?

I was wondering if there are any plans to produce a smaller Tunze stream powerhead. The thing is if you have a 75 or 90 gallon tank and want a stream pump you have to buy one of the ones with the controller just to decrease the flow so it won't blow your sand around. It would be nice if you made a stream that put out about 800-900 gph of flow. I would just get the 800gph seio but I just don't trust them.

The problem with these low flow Streams is the flow wouldn't carry but 2ft or less. A 6060 and 6000 has a flow that only carries 4ft. The Seio produces a hollow tube pattern of water- almost no center flow. This means the lower flow has a bit more force because it is actually occupying a smaller area. Still, the 800gph only travels about 3ft. On an SPS tank of 75gals it should be no problem to use the 6060 or 6000. Otherwise our traditional powerheads have a low shearing force 1" outlet and can fill the niche you specified. We are working toward a low cost device for nano reefs that will be about $40 if we can get it to work, but this will be for 2ft tanks and less.

Hi Roger,
Just tagging along here with a question.
Which stream would you recommend for a 4x2x2 aquarium? I have an All-Glass 120 with dual overlflows of the above listed dimensions.
How many streams would you use? 1 or 2?

I'm currently using a wavemaster pro with 2 powerheads for my wave action.

Thanks!

Brian

2 6000 and a multi for SPS or 2 7400/2 for mixed- I use the 7400/2 in my 120 but I probably would have used Streams if they were available when I set up my tank, possibly one of each so I could have low and high flow zones.

So you wouldn't recommend the streams for mixed reefs?
I'm planning on mainly SPS, but I do have LPS, some softies, and I will have clams as well.

Thanks for the info!

Brian

So if I were to get a 6000 on my 75 with about 3" of sand would I have all my sand on one half of my tank? Also how many feed does it take for the stream to get from the narrow chanel of water to full tank flow, I guess what I'm asking is how far does it take for the flow to widen out all the way.
