Any suggestions?

So the other day I got home and my six line was belly up. I know most people advise against them and their compatibility with others, but he was probably my favorite. All my levels were good except alk was a little high. In my 29 gal I also have a small b/g chromis, a perc clown pair, a bangaii, a small-ish conch, zoos and softies, and a basic cuc.

So once I get my levels evened out I'd like to get just 1 more fish in there. Any suggestions on a smaller fish that would add some more fun to the tank? Trying to avoid known jumpers. Really like firefish, but I've heard they're really common carpet surfers. Just looking for some opinions.

So here's kinda what I'm deciding between. A bicolor dottyback (but I've heard they're mean too), a peppermint shrimp (I found my first aiptasia the other day, ahhh!!), or some kind of goby. Maybe a shrimp and goby. Maybe a tiger shark.... Probably not though. I just feel like I'm talking to myself. So, ya, any insight?

I advise against adding a dottyback unless it is an orchid dottybach (P. fridmani). Something to consider for your tank would be a royal gramma. Very bright coloration, and pretty fun to watch IMO. A watchman goby paired with a pistol shrimp would be just as or more fun to watch though, depending on the species you get. I am partial to a double pair though (goby pair and pistol pair in the same den).

A peppermint shrimp won't affect your bio-load, so you can add one if you would like. They have been known to nip/eat some corals, just a forewarning.

Thanks, I hadn't even thought of a royal. Pretty much the only decision I've made is that I need a bigger tank.

I would actually advise getting something that will hang out at the bottom of the tank like a goby. You've got a lot of active swimmers, so I think a goby would be a great choice, and if you like the idea of a shrimp/goby pair, even better!

Thanks guys. Thinking more of a shrimp/goby pair, but worried my conch would plow over the shrimps area.

You could always skip the shrimp and just go with a goby. They're great fish even without having a shrimp friend.

thought about a Copperband butterfly fish? i personally love them and they are very entreating and playful, however if you were going down the route of getting one of them i would recommend a cleaner shrimp or a fire shrimp as well because my one loves to be tickled and cleaned by them so its keeps them happy and prevents ICH also make sure you see him eat in the local pet shop, as ive heard they can be bad eaters but mine has always taken brine shrimp without a fuss, but just to be safe!

I like the copperband, but think it would get a tad too big for my 29g. Tomorrow I'll go to my LFS and look for a goby and see if they have a shrimp to go with it. They should be getting a shipment in today.

So I ended up getting 2 peppermint shrimp to help with my budding aiptasia and a two spot goby. He's pretty awesome, just in case anyone was wondering.
