Any use of a hot glue gun in DIY projects?

I have just purchased a hot glue gun and I wonder which could be its uses in the DIY sector of our hobby.One I have already thought about,is gluing thin acrylic pieces with plywood while building a plywood aquarium(of course without using epoxy paint).I'm not sure if its glue sticks are capable of sticking to acrylic,though.Any ideas from your own experience?

I have used it to glue acrylic, and I have to say that either I didn't do something right, or it just didn't work. But it was an emergency type corrective situation that turned out to be more permanent than I had hoped. It eventually failed.
