Anybody get any "bubble" algae from Rods?

I finally went by Rod's to get some "Rod Food", and my fish love it. But I love it more because I know my fish are getting super healthy variety, probably more than they ever have before!!

Anyway when I was there he had a GOOD kind of "bubble" algae macro that he gave as a bonus. It grows in clumps and is easily harvested. The "freebie" stuff didn't have much life in it but I'm sure if I paid for some I could pick out some prime peices. .

ANYWAY, in one of this tanks I noticed all these little pods. They are orange/red like in color. Has anyone been by there and seen them? I'd like to get some when I set up my new tank. Does anybody know what they are? I've heard "tiger" pods are generally bigger than other pods, and that's my guess. Rod if you are here and can chime in, or anybody else who has some experience with them. I should have asked when I was there, but I had so many questions some of them went forgotten.

Well I would hope they are not "red bugs" because those are bad. Aren't there some pods that are redder in color that are GOOD?

no I'm just joking around. Rod loves his sand bed more than anyone I know so rest assured his pods are getting the same care. I have a 29g fuge and the pods are everywhere. I would think if you cold get a handful from Rod they would multiply in no time.

I'm glad you mentioned it though. I will look closer the next time at Rod's.

So, did anyone see them and figure out what they were? I'm only bumping this because my 125 is now running and I'm in the "fuge starter kit" mode. I do not think they are bad, Rod knows his stuff and if they were bad he would have noticed and done something about it.

I'm just really interested in finding out what species of pod they are. I want to get some next time!
