Anybody have an outbreak of ich right now????

Does anybody have a bad outbreak of ich right now that would be willing to try something different. I've got a 300 gallon tank full of big tangs that allways have ich. It was getting do bad that I was going to hypo the whole tank. I remembered when I first got into this hobby I had my first outbreak of ich and after reading alot I decided to try selcon and garlic. It seemed to work for a while. At the same time I had been feeding alot of frozen brine shrimp. I mean alot to. I bought a 20 ounce package and fed allmost all of it in a couple of months. Low and behold all my fish cleared up. Later on after reading somewhere that brine was basically useless for fish I stopped feeding it. Guess what, for the last year I have been battling ich steady. I was allmost ready to quit the hobby because of it. Especially lately has it been bad. Trying to remember what I did different at the time of my clean period I remembered feeding all the brine and really thought about it. I read where Paul b on here said that fish that are fed a diet high in oil will be disease resistant then it hit me. Think about this... What meat contains more oil white or dark meat. Dark meat does of corse. Looking at frozen brine its allmost black so I'm guessing its super high in oil. So it's been a little over a week since i started just dumping the brine shrimp to my fish and I can't believe it ! Ich is allmost gone. My poor hippos were just coated in it and now they are clean. That's why I posted this. If someone else is dealing with a bad outbreak I'm hoping they will give this a whirl. Feed your fish alot of it for few days and see if you get the same results I'm getting. Looking forward to hearing updates.

I'll bite. I've got a white cheek tang, showing Ick and getting worse. While hes been in QT, hes been getting Mysis, brine, blood worms, garlic, and nori among other foods. Either way he gets brine at least once a day. Guess what, its getting worse. Started copper last night, I know that will cure it. Also by doing this, it assures me my DT doesn't have Ick, which Im sure of.

Perhaps your diet helps, by why not get rid of it completely once and for all and never have to worry about it again, especially since you love tangs and tangs love Ick?

It's too late for me. My display is 300 gallons and the fish are just to big to qt now. I know it would be nice to be rid of it for sure but just not possible in my case. It would be alot different if I had a small tank and just a few fish.

I have a 150 and have a tomini, hippo, powder brown, and sailfin tang (plus 8 other fish) I have ich in my tank, and always have. About once a month they'll show a couple ich spots, that's all. I feed heavily. Lots of nori through out the day and mysis every evening.
