anybody have any old 150w hwi bulbs they have replaced?

im trying to test it. 2 work, but the middle one wont work. the wire is burnt all the way up, so i dont know if it will work or not.. i have 2 big ballasts not electronic. a guy is trying to sell them to me, but i dont think i will get them. they are too loud, and i dont have a need for that much light in a fowlr tank. even though it would be cool to see what it would look like. where you been? how was the move? i hope the move in went smoother than the move out lol. you had alot going on.

You should be able to replace the wire fairly easily. The bulb in the middle is an almost brand-new 10k XM bulb, so the bulb itself should be fine...unless it shorted out, but odds are it's alright.

Dave, the fixture is the one you guys can get (used to get?) at the CR. It's the same as the one that was over the 75g with the seahorses in it, only it's a 6-foot 3x150w fixture.
Chris, any HQI ballast should work. Eelctronics are nie and run quieter (you'll need to look around for pricing though). Depending on what you're keeping, you may want to consider upgrading the fixture to 250w...the bulbs should fit (with a retrofit for the sockets), the ballasts are easier to find...
