SWFMAS is having an open house next weekend with a livestock auction. There will be many SPS at that auction. By last count, we are over 140 corals with commitments from others. We should hit the 200 mark the day of the event.

Doors open at noon. Speakers start at 1 p.m. Followed by raffle and then the auction.

SO whats this thing all about you can buy frags sell frags and they have a raffle and action on corals or fish. do they sell fish too?

It is the Southwest Florida Marine Aquarium Society (SWFMAS) first annual open house. We have speakers. We have had suppliers and stores donate dry goods to raffle. We have had stores donate corals to auction. Individuals are bringing corals to auction. Corals brought by individuals will be split with the club.

I just ordered fish and inverts for the auction. At this time, exact quantities are not known for the fish and inverts. We will post that when they are actually in our hands.

i see you listed you're occupation as working at MOTE - I contacted MOTE a few months ago & tried to get them to send us some material, and even invited MOTE to come down & part take at the event ... to promote MOTE, and or just pass out info. We'd have been glad to have MOTE at the event. I had very little luck in doing so ... or none to be exact.

Was just wondering if you knew someone to contact directly at mote whom one should speak to about events in the community ?

Yes i am an Aquarist assistent and my boss is Shawn Garner and i have talked to him about it and he said he would talk to his supperiors to see if maybe we could come down there and promote mote.

Who would i talk to about setting up a "behind the scenes" tour for our local sarasota/bradenton reef club? I have tried several attempts at the mote feedback/contact website, but havent heard anything. Also, your mailbox is full..

a2fire2i, we (SWFMAS) are planning a trip on April 20. Trying to get a "behind the scenes" tour as well. Maybe if we team up, we'll have better luck!
