Anybody here ride motorcycles?

I ride a street bike most of the time, but also have a dirtbike too, but haven't ridden it in quite a while.

Flying is much more expensive though... and you can't go for a 30 minute flight. It's a half or whole day event. It's like having a boat. It's nice, but unless you live on the water, a boating outing is an all day thing.

I can jump on the motorcycle, ride a while and be back home in 30 minutes if I need to be. Oh...and you probably can't fly to work. :)

Not necessarily true. I kept my plane in my garage/hanger, and would frequently take it out for a quick spin, but I was never able to get service at drive throughs!! And flying was almost cheaper than reefing!

I have a moped, does that count? :strooper:

My parents routinely fly to neighboring states for breakfast and are back late morning, and you certainly can take a little 30 minute trip if you live by your airstrip, which in there case is in their yard. Planes don't work for ordinary transport, such as to and from work of course, so motorcycles win there. However, motorcycles can't fly.

I have a moped, not a scooter: http://www.mopeds.net/mopedsvsmotorscootersthegreatdebate.html My formerly entrepreneurial self bought it with all of the cash I had from owning and operating a landscaping company, comic book shop, and delivering newspapers at age 14. My step-dad and I did a total strip and rebuild of the bike (an early 80's Jawa 210), and gave it a slick nacre paint job. It is in storage up in Ohio, but I don't have the heart to sell it for nostalgic reasons. I'd bring it down here and ride it if my car wasn't so frigging small.

Joel, you are an interesting person, odd, but interesting. Knowing a few other things about you, I should have guessed that you had a scooter.

Paul, while I suppose I should take that as a compliment, I should remind you that everyone who's into aquariums enough to join an aquarium club is at least a wee bit odd. And I don't have a friggin' scooter. ;)

I ride an R1. My gsxr needs some work since a track wipeout and 70mph cartwheels.

I need to get up to the Dragon sometime, but my knee's not quite up to it now. MRI was last Wednesday and meet with the specialist this Wednesday to see what has to be done to get it fixed.

I love the turns..and speed.

The dragon is what you make it. If you ride slow, it's a casual cruise. If you ride fast, it can be quite an adrenaline rush. :)
