I just got a colony of these...What kind are they?

Those are not PHE. I have some PHE and mine look nothing like those. Those look alot better then PHE.
However, those are incredible. Nice find.

I know where you got those and they arn't PPE like they say....They are very nice though, I have thought about getting some of those myself.

i dont think they are PPE or PHE. i remember whodah saying that PHE had a red ring in the center, and there was like one guy who kept them that was able to make them look like that without the red ring.

pazazz, i think you have a unique find. look at the coloration of your skirts, they have some yellow in them. you've been posting some crazy stuff, where do you find it all?

My PHE's didn't have the red ring. They look an awful lot like this shot of PHE's from zoaid.

They look like the ones that have been coming in with the purple centered orange skirts and purple centered yellow skirts that have been showing up everywhere.

Al,

No pics, but my PHE started out looking just like the ones on the ZoaID calendar. And if you looked really closely, you could barely see a faint ring. After the carbon fiasco, the centers faded and the rings were more visible.

that simile is kind of like saying "that porche sure looks like those hondas that everyone drives", I guess you must mean that yes, they're all palythoas, but no, they look nothing like the orange or white rimmed ones that have been coming in a lot lately

given the right lighting i suspect the orange skirted ones could glow purple as these do. and they are not palythoa's as they do not incorporate sediment into their mat.

I don't think these are anything close to the Lunar or Eclipse as they have been going by.....These are more like a normal zoanthid polyp with the colors of a PPE, maybe not quite as dark purple.....If you look at them the have a typical skirt, where as the other being discussed are a little bigger and have fatter skirts. Although a picture farther away would be a little more helpful...I think that is the picture from the site right Pazazz? It looks like it anyway.
