Anybody try using an "expandable hose" in thier plumbing?

I hate how ridged "flexible" plastic/rubber hoses are. They are fine for plumbing that does not move, but what about when you want to move a pump to clean behind it.

I was wondering if anyone has tried using a short piece of these new expandable garden hoses?????

Let me know,
Steve

Don't do it! I had one of those hoses... pretty neat. I thoought it would have failed first at the cheap connections. Instead it busted through the sidewall. Know 3 others ppl had and done the same. Neat gimick tho.

Goto lowes or other home store and look for some vynl tubing. I found 5/8 there once that was pretty thin-wall and flexible. Those hoses will rupture.

I wouldn't use those hoses for anything but gardening, ect.

If you want something that's more flexible I have seen this used in aquarium applications before.

I tried it and I couldn't get the right size to fit over my standard sized PVC barbed fittings so I had to go with standard vinyl tubing. But this may work for you.

I just cut 3 or 4 spirals down each side on each end and was able to slip them on after. I couldn't get it on the barbed fitting for nothing prior to that though either.
