anybody use a pipe-die to put threads on their SCWD?

I was thinking - couldn't you just cut/dremel off the hose barb connection on a SCWD and use a die to put in some regular pipe threads? I don't have one handy, but I imagine it would probably go down to a 1/2" MPT, but maybe a 3/4" if you're lucky.

Anybody ever done this or thought about doing it?

Thought about doing it to a beckett foam head. Seems like pretty thick stuff. How thick is the plastic on a SCWD?

here is another way to do it. they are glued into the pvc fittings. it works great.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. Looks like it will accept a 1/2" NPT. And he only used a steel pipe fitting to get it done - much cheaper than a real die.
