Anybody using a battery backup with a Power Bar?

I had been considering the idea of picking up an APC battery backup unit to use with my tank. Partially, because these are supposed to give some sort of power conditioning, and help out with fluxuations in power, but also to have the battery backup feature in case of a power outage. So, I would assume that by placing a Power Bar onto the battery backup (the Power Bar controlling my Tunze Stream pumps, and return pump), and then plugging that actual Profilux head unit into the battery back up as well, this would work? Just seems like I am missing something, and this should be easier, or more difficult than I am anticipating. :lmao:
Thanks in advance!

The main issue with UPS units is the capacity, generally there is only enough battery power to run the plugged in unit for around 30 minutes (give or take on the unit and the capacity).
So if you want to run it for longer than that, you need to look for a different solution.

I run my ProfiLux controller and 1 powerbar off of a UPS. All other powered items are not connected to the UPS. The powerbar plugged into the UPS only has a small powerhead and my heater connected. This will keep my ProfiLux unit, 1x powerhead and heater working during short to medium power outages. For long term I initiate a more robust system such as generator etc. If I am expecting significant power issues (massive storms in the area, Snow or Tropical) I have a generator handy and can get it going in a matter of minutes and then start connecting "mission critical" items to that.
