i have a asm4 protein skimmer i want to convert to recirculating protein skimmer anybody know how to do it? i am willing to pay the person who can help me or do it for me. i have only one protein skimmer so i cant afford to mail my skimmer to asm to do it.

It is not that difficult. Have you decided what pump you wanna run for the recirc? Also from what I was reading adding a gate valve seams to really help with that particular skimmer.

Figure out what size fittings (likely be either 1/2" or 3/4") your pump that you choose uses. pickup a couple of unions, 90 degree fittings, and a small peice of pipe. Also, get uniseals to connect the pipe to the body of the skimmer. You will have to use a hole saw to cut through the skimmer. The size will depend on which size uni-seal you have to use. You can get the uni-seals from aquatic eco in apopka. You could also get clear pvc from them as well.

I also have an asm g4 or g4x. And I did the recirc mod, gate valve mod, overflow feed mod. Not sure if it made a difference since I did it as soon as I got it. Was really easy to do and just like cur10u5g30rg3 recommended I got all the parts from Aquatic Eco. Your welcome to stop by and look at it.

+1 for aquatic eco. They did a super job helping me get parts for my skimmer. Just bring the skimmer in with you and they should be able to hook you up.

thanks guys i will go to aquatic eco this friday. sforlando can i bring all the stuff need to your house and help me ? iam not comfortable drilling this skimmer. if you want i have some powerhead koralia if you need some as a payment

Ya I will help you out. Just let me know when you want to meet up. If you want to also do the gate valve mod, I have extra 1 1/2 pipe. The part numbers I bought were wgv112 1 1/2 PVC gate Valve and U100 1 inch uniseal.
