*Lehigh Valley(5 minutes from Something Fishy)

i brought home a 210AGA today.....but my pop has a real bad back and i need 2 guys to help me lift the tank onto the stand(which is in place w/ tank on carpet next to it)

I realize this isn't the most glorious thing.....so i will make it up to the 2 guys with frags if wanted.

Thanks alot!

oh yeah.....beer is also form of re-payment;)
good point bmac :)

*there is a trim on top of stand and that is what is making it impossible for me:( ....but it is too nice to remove and to intrical to stand to remove also....the stand is a very tall one without the extra trim-

Stand -- 53"
trim -- another 3"
...so over 4.5', and i'm only 5'8" :)

Matt,
I am an hour away and I work an hour from my house in the oppisite direction so I can't make it during the week. Anyway if you still need help I can come down that way next Sunday.

Let me know....

Matt,

I wish I saw your post earlier. I can help if you still need it. I'm only down the road.

hey matt,
i just got home from tfp.i'm off wed and sun i can help or thurs and sat night after work i'm free.

I can help Monday night if you're in a rush to get it in. I wouldn't be able to get there until 6:30/7 since I'd be coming up 222 and rush-hour that way sucks.

I have to check my Wednesday night to see if I'm off or not. If I'm off..I'm actually working in Macungie that day..but if I'm working that night I won't have time.

Friday night would be the same as Monday for me..Tuesdays and Thursdays are always out for me...sorry..it's a shame too because I'm in Macungie Tues, Wed, and Thursday.

As for the weekend...well...if you haven't moved it by then we can talk. :)

Let me know.

big thanks to kevin and brad for helping!!! :)
seriously, i owe each of you a favor ;)

i'm gonna start a little thread when i get it running(by this weekend)....BUT, i do not own a digi. and this upgrade is taking more $ than i even have. :hmm2:

i still need 30-80 lbs. of l.r. and like 350lbs. of sand :eek1:

If you're not maxing out your tank with fish for a few months, why not just get some dead rock and let what you have seed it? Then look for sand at HD and seed that too.

I personally wouldn't flinch at being light 30lb of LR in a 210 gallon..that means you already have what?! 150lbs or so? My tank was originally about 80% live rock, the other 20% was base or dead rock. The dead stuff I bought from TFP, I use it for mounting frags. My next tank I'd like to use the "Mo-Rock" method that Zooqi is working on of concrete rocks seeded by live rock than can then be removed. Concrete is a little different than dead rock to work with (very acidic, needs to be soaked) but I hope the need for 1.5lbs of LR (from the ocean) per gallon slowly fades to other methods.

I've already tried the dead rock route and that worked fine. I say "worked" because I bought a bunch of extra LR from CTSeiber when he broke his tank down...so I'm now well above 1.5lb/gal of LR (From the ocean) per gallon, but I was at around 1lb/gal LR (From the ocean) for about 2 years...with other dead rock in the system to take me up beyond 1.5lbs/gal.

Anyway..it's just a suggestion to get you up and running fast and cheap since you already have cured rock.

It used to be called "Southdown"..it was bagged in Lancaster. They were bought out by Oldcastle..but it's the same sand and bag. And I hear "Yard Right" is the same stuff too.

It's a clear bag with a blue and red boy on the front. And a label that says "not for aquarium use or traction" :)

The last I heard they no longer bag it, but some HDs still have a stock pile..if yours does..let me know because I plan on buying a bunch. :) I only have about 4 bags left.

If you've never heard of southdown before, here's the infamous southdown thread:

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26193

My tank is 99% southdown. I have about 1% of live sand that was used to seed the tank of the guy who had the LR and LS BEFORE me...I skimmed his southdown and dropped it onto my fresh (unwashed) south down. The stuff is cloudy for a while..but it settles.
