Anyone actually bought a Bermuda Skimmer?

Has anyone actually bought a Bermuda skimmer and used it? How do you like it? Which model and what pump are you using?
Where did you buy it? I'm considering upgrading.
Thanks

I've had a BPS-3C on my 90 for about 6 months now. I also purchased the waste container and I can't get through a week without having to empty it. It's powered by a Rio 3100 that I already had. I got it from EcoReef in Pompano.

As advertised, I never have to clean out the venturi, there's no needle wheel to get clogged up. The skimmate is nasty, dark and smelly. It replaced a Coralife SS which IME is a complete PITA and a waste of money. If you like low maintenance, I recommend the Bermuda.

Funny you mention it, I have a Corallife 65 and have had it for a couple of years and it does an ok job but lately has become very tempermental, overflowing alot. Time to step up to a real skimmer, I have to have out of sump so my options are limited. This is one of the "good" ones I found that will fit my stand and be out of sump. Sounds like you are very happy with it. I have a Rio 1100, think that is enough pump?
Thanks,
Doug

Bermuda recommends a 700-900 gph pump, Rio 1100 is only 300 gph. So I would say no, it's inadequate.
Bermuda suggests: RIO HYPERFLOW 17HF, MAG 7, SEDRA 7000

Personally, I would go with the Mag.

BTW, the Bermuda has NEVER overflowed on me.

Of course, if you add something foamy, like MelaFix or Red Slime Remover, then you need to shut it down, as per the medications' instructions. On those occasions I cheated and put a little air valve on the venturi tube temporarily so I could dial down the mix and get the aeration benefit without removing the medication and flooding the place.
