anyone else keep Blue Jaw triggers? and what and how often do you feed them...

I keep a mated pair in my reef. Their fed about 2-4 times a day heavily with cyclopeeze, PE mysis, occasionally krill, and NLS/F1 pellets. All this food is soaked in Brightwell Vitamarin-C. Occasionally I'll feed a live brine enriched with phytoplankton and oyster eggs. Mine have been model citizens and never any aggression. I keep mine with tangs, anthias, angels, butterflies, and very large chromis

the first fish in my new reef setup is a blue jaw i feed him once daily. selcon soked pe mysiss and krill once in a while. I have major coepods and he eats the big ones.

When I had mine he was only fed once a day. He was quite healthy and of course the tank pig, will absolutely eat anything that hits the water. They are generally quite bashfull at first but look out when they get comfy.
One issue, he will outgrow your 75.

yes i know he will, and i have a pair... but they will be good until i get my 6' 100g upgrade in the spring...

and after having mine for a couple weeks, i feel once a day is not nearly enough to feed these guys, you both should up your feeding... from what i've read, they require some heavy feeding and nutrients...

but thank you jus the same guys for your help so far :)

we love our triggers lol

I have a pair and they are among my favorite fish. I had a large male before that i turned back in to my LFS because he became extremely aggressive. He also acted funny - like he never settled-in well to being captive.

The pair i have now are great but I'm not sure if they have fully developed a love connection yet. They eat frozen food or pellets once a day. They also chow down on algae sheets that I feed daily.

i am actually kind of afraid that is happening to my male... its been 3 weeks or so now... the female is doin great, but the male is acting very uncomfortable unfortunatly, and he is much more seclusive than he was in the beginning, and today he doesnt seem to wana eat... we will see what happens...

How often one feed Blue Jaw Triggers? I think forum gives some suggestion from some owners of Blue Jaw. At the end of the days I think it good to consult a bit more. No one has given a concrete answer. Some suggest two to four times a day with some supplements. I don’t know what to think. Always go for a more expert advice than taking advice from someone who owns a fish.

I've a Crosshatch for almost 2 years now and a pair of Blue Throats over a year and I feed them twice a day. They seem to be doing very well with just 2 feedings of frozen and a small snack (flakes & pellets) just before bedtime.

i just bought my first blue jaw 2 days ago. he has been hiding mostly but he recently has come out to swim around... my goal is to do a nice mix 3 times daily of mysis/krill in the morning/afternoon and pellets at night. he seems to be settling in nicely, he has found a nice little cave to go and every 5 minutes or so he pops out and does a lap or 2

I don't have a blue jaw but i have a niger trigger in my reef tank... I feed him a staple of mysis and scallops.
