Anyone else watch this.......

I know I'll get a lot of responses from this... but here it goes....

First good thing GW has done for this country!
 
Well... after some of our government's actions that were in the opposite direction I am wondering what the motivation really was for doing this. A trade off of some sort? Maybe meant to temporarily appease some of the environmentalists that have been up in arms? I'm sure some will support him and everyone has a right to their own opinion but my dislike is so very strong that I will argue with my own mother for over an hour about all this. She is strongly religious and I am not. At least not in the conventional sense... and this seems to be the root of our disagreement on the current presidency. From his actions at times I am not all that convinced of his conviction for God. JMO and not meaning to raise any hackles it just all gets under my skin when it comes to our environment. Must be the Cherokee in me... :D
 
Um, I know it's a touchy subject but politics are directly involved in this particular aspect of our hobby so I didn't think I was off base by my comments. Sorry if I offended.

So, who else noticed the pyramid butterflies? If it ended up w/ me never being able to get the Swallowtail Angels I was considering a couple of those...:D
 
dont worry i dont think u were off topic at all or showing any hostile opinons. Regardless of my personal opinion on this administration or how this protection of the reefs came to be, its really good that its been done and hopefully will continue past this administration.
 
posts with political content usually only get closed if opinions run strong and end up offending someone. Rules are pretty tight with alot of things that get overlooked.
 
Back on topic, I agree completely with dreaminmel. Its good, but one does have to wonder about the politics behind the decision. Impossible to say if there are agendas at work here or not, but everyone can pretty much agree that the conservation of the reef is in the end a very good thing :)
